Our Founder’s Vision
In 2019, Lauren Winans created Next Level Benefits to fix a problem she often saw through her work as an HR Benefits Leader. Short-staffed and overworked, her team had too many tasks and not enough time to focus on important programs that could improve employee well-being. While on-demand staff was easy to find for teams in design, marketing, and writing, there were few options for human resources. This led her to start a company that helped businesses get help quickly with on-demand HR expertise and interim HR talent.

Lauren Winans
CEO and Principal HR Consultant
Lauren is an employee benefits expert with nearly 25 years of experience. She's worked in HR leadership roles at many well-known brands, including General Nutrition Centers, American Eagle Outfitters, CONSOL Energy, and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. She is known for improving company culture, enhancing total rewards programs, and offering strategic HR insights. She's a frequent speaker and panelist for a variety of organizations such as the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), World at Work, HR Daily Advisor, HR4HR, and The Alliance, among many others. Her insights have been featured in several media outlets such as BBC News, Forbes, USA Today, US News and World Report, NBC News, and The Washington Post.

Barbara has extensive experience leading all aspects of compensation, benefits, and shared services and brings a transformative approach to help clients make meaningful, impactful changes to their total rewards programs.

Jeff helps clients to optimize its people operations by focusing on compliance, refining policies, and strengthening workplace culture with strong expertise in talent management, HRIS/HCM systems, and DEIB initiatives.

Jodi's depth of benefits experience is expansive, from managing complex retirement plans, to conducting plan mergers due to M&A activity, to leading the global benefits function for a 60,000+ employee organization.

Kimberlee has a strong generalist background providing innovative solutions that maximize business performance, strengthen employee alignment, and increase employee engagement.

With over 30 years of experience, Laura specializes in creating and implementing healthcare and benefits programs for her clients.

Jessica is a strategic and innovative HR expert, working collaboratively with clients to create, cultivate, and build trust with employees at all levels.

Brian possesses a deep understanding of the healthcare delivery system and has designed and redesigned a wide range of benefit programs and healthcare solutions.

Aisha has over 20 years of experience in HR and specializes in human capital strategy and talent management.

Connie has experience as a CHRO and Chief People Officer, specializing in leadership development, HR operations, workplace culture and succession planning.

Katherine focuses on building the right human-centric HR programs for an organization's employees so that they can collectively deliver on the mission and profitability of their company.

Rochelle is a collaborative leader who has a proven track record of developing HR in start-up organizations and optimizing HR in established organizations, consistently looking for ways to align her clients’ strategic goals with their people practices.

Patty partners with clients to successfully develop and execute strategic communication campaigns that educate, influence and motivate stakeholders while reinforcing business goals.

Emily specializes in solving complex business problems with an eye for enhancing the employee experience, optimizing HR processes, and strengthening the employer brand by building cultures of well-being and engagement.

Emily McGinnis is a human resources consultant with over 15 years of HR experience. Emily specializes in solving complex business problems with an eye for enhancing the employee experience, optimizing HR processes, and strengthening the employer brand by building cultures of well-being and engagement. Prior to joining NLB, Emily held a variety of HR and project management roles in corporate settings, including SunTrust Bank. She also worked as a human capital consultant with Deloitte Consulting, working with clients such as The Coca-Cola Company, Walmart, Johnson Controls, and Baxter Healthcare.

Her focus has been on writing, editing and project-managing a broad range of content from inception to launch for internal and external audiences. She holds a Bachelor's in Marketing from Fordham University and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She also holds certifications in Global Benefits Management from IFEBP and HR Ethics from HRCI.

Barbara has worked for Frontier Communications, Frenkel & Company (now EPIC Consulting), and United HealthCare.
